FIX: Access Violation When You Use Object Pooling in a COM+ Server Application

SYMPTOMS

When a COM+ component that is configured as a server component uses object pooling from Component Services, it may cause an access violation that forces its Dllhost.exe host process to end. Subsequent calls to instantiate the pooled object return CLASS_E_CLASSNOTAVAILABLE.

RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 2.
