Error Messages Appear and Access Violations Occur After You Upload SSI ASPs in IIS 5.0

Article ID: 289496

Article Last Modified on 11/21/2006

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 1
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server
  • Microsoft Internet Information Services 5.0

This article was previously published under Q289496

SYMPTOMS

When you upload server-side include (SSI) Active Server Pages (ASPs) on a computer that runs Windows 2000 Service Pack 1, an overflow in the Llhost.exe program, which runs under system context, may occur in Internet Information Services (IIS). The overflow causes the following error message:

Error Type:
Active Server Pages, ASP 0126 (0x80004005)
No further information is available. (Error description is too long; please check for missing end delimiters, such as '%>'.)
/include_file.asp, line 1

Then the source ASP page produces an access violation. If a fix (other than the one listed in this article) has been applied, the following error message appears:

Error Type:
Active Server Pages, ASP 0126 (0x80004005)
The include file '...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA' was not found.
/include_virtual.asp, line 1

The source ASP page then returns a server 500 error but does not produce an access violation.
