SYMPTOMS
When you generate a request on the Advanced Certificate Requests page under Web Enrollment and omit information in one or more of the information fields, the Relative Distinguished Names (RDNs) are empty. The root Certificate Authority (CA) PKCS#10 Request is not signed by an Entrust Root CA for cross-certification.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000.
This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 2.
