Clicking the "Authentication" Button in NNTP Protocol in Exchange System Manager Does Not Open "Authentication" Dialog Box

SYMPTOMS

If you use Windows 2000 Administrative Tools (Adminpak.msi) on a computer that is running Windows 2000 Professional to remotely administer an Exchange 2000 server computer, and you attempt to view the authentication methods for a Network News Transfer Protocol (NNTP) virtual server by clicking the Authentication button in the NNTP Virtual Server Properties dialog box, the Authentication dialog box may not be displayed, even though the Authentication button is available.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, manually register the Certmap.ocx file by using Resvr32.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000.

This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 2.
