SYMPTOMS
When you rotate a Microsoft Publisher logo design object and then view it in Web Page Preview, the graphic object in the logo appears in its original orientation rather than being rotated along with the logo's text box.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use one of the following methods.
Method 1: Cut and Paste
Cut the rotated image and then paste it back in as a single object by using a different graphic type. To do this, follow these steps:
- Rotate the logo to the orientation that you want.
- Select the whole logo image -- both the text and the graphic objects.
- On the Edit menu, click Cut.
- On the Edit menu, click Paste Special, select one of the following graphic styles
- Picture (GIF)
- Picture (PNG)
- Picture (JPG/JFIF)
- On the File menu, click Web Page Preview.
Notice that the graphic object retains the expected orientation to the text object.
Method 2: Substitute an Image
Substitute an image of a different graphic type, such as Graphics Interchange Format (GIF), Portable Network Graphics (PNG), or Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG), for the graphic object in the logo. To do this, follow these steps:
- On the Insert menu, click Design Gallery Object.
- On the Objects by Categories tab, click Logos under Categories. Select the logo design that you want, and then click Insert Object.
- Select the logo design object, and then click Ungroup on the Arrange menu. Click Yes to confirm the Ungroup command.
- Click the logo's graphic object, and then click Cut on the Edit menu.
- On the Edit menu, click Paste Special, select one of the following graphic styles
- Picture (GIF)
- Picture (PNG)
- Picture (JPG/JFIF)
- Re-position the graphic image, if necessary.
- Press and hold the SHIFT key, and then click the logo's text box so that both the text box and the graphic image are selected.
- On the Arrange menu, click Group.
You are now able to rotate and view the whole logo correctly in Web Page Preview.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
