This article was previously published under Q288609

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to start a new Query Wizard, Form Wizard, or Report Wizard in Microsoft Access 2.0 on a Microsoft Windows XP-based computer that you have upgraded from Microsoft Windows 2000, you may receive the following error message:

Cannot find Wizard or error in Wizard code. Check the Libraries section of your msacc20.ini file.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because in Windows XP, permissions on the root of the volume that is using the NTFS file system prevent users from writing there; thus, regular users cannot access any folder that you create under the root.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, an administrator can install Microsoft Access 2.0 under the Program Files folder, which has suitable permissions because of the presence of the TsUserSID file.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
