Default Outlook Code Pages
This section provides information about the code pages Microsoft recommends that you use for the best compatibility with older mail systems. Outlook uses these code pages as default outbound encodings. To see the default encoding for your particular configuration:
- In Outlook, click Options on the Tools menu.
- Click the Mail Format tab.
- Click International Options.
- View the setting for Preferred encoding for outgoing messages.
