SYMPTOMS

When you quit Word, you receive the following error message:

Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if you quit Word after a dictation session in which IBM ViaVoice was running.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

The Office Error Reporting dialog box appears when an error occurs that results in a fatal event in the program.
