SYMPTOMS
When you view the contents of a compressed folder by using Thumbnail view, you may notice that the thumbnail images are not rendered for graphics files.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.

To create a thumbnail view of images in a compressed folder, Windows would need to uncompress each image in memory, and this would consume a large amount of system resources and time in folders that contain many files.
