SYMPTOMS
When you try to dial a remote connection on a computer running Windows 2000 Professional, you may receive the following error message:
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because the original drivers for the dial-up adapters are not supported under Windows 2000.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, update the drivers.
MORE INFORMATION
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click System, click Hardware, and then click Device Manager.
- Expand Network Adapters, right-click RAS Async Adapter, and then click Properties.
- Click Update Driver.
Windows will report that the correct driver is already installed and will prompt you to either reinstall the driver or exit.
- Click Reinstall.
- Run the Dial-up Networking Wizard again.
