XADM: CDO Can Corrupt Data in Recurring Appointments

SYMPTOMS

If you use Collaboration Data Objects (CDO), corrupted data may be added to recurring appointments in the First Day of Week field. This corrupted data may cause Microsoft Outlook to loop when you attempt to view a Calendar that contains the corrupted appointment.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if the First Day of Week preference is improperly processed of when this value is read from the message store for a particular message.

RESOLUTION

NOTE: Because of file dependencies, these fixes require Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5 Service Pack 4. The English version of this fix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.
