SYMPTOMS
When you try to search the contents of Unicode or ANSI text attachments in e-mail messages that are delivered from Exchange 2000 Server, you may not be able to complete the search.
For Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2001, this behavior occurs on the Exchange 2000 public folders that are used as Portal Server content sources.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because the Multipurpose Internet Mail Extension (MIME) filter is sent to the Windows 2000-based client computer without a plain-text filter. The MIME filter tries to handle the plain text by using the Microsoft Exchange Active Server Components (ASC) filter to search the document.
