SYMPTOMS

When two different IEEE 1394 devices are plugged into a computer with an 866-MHz or faster processor, and at least three IEEE 1394 ports, one of the IEEE 1394 devices may not be recognized. This problem can occur when an IEEE 1394 hard disk (acting as a repeater) and an IEEE 1394 DV camera were connected.

CAUSE

This behavior is a result of the 1394 driver incorrectly handling device time-outs.
