SYMPTOMS

When you try to open the Terminal Services Licensing snap-in, you may receive the following error message:

No Terminal Services license server is available in the current domain or workgroup. To connect to another license server, click Connect, and then type the server name.

You may not be able to resolve this issue after you configure the DefaultLicenseServer value in the registry.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if File and Printer Sharing is disabled on the Licensing Server.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, enable File and Printer Sharing on the Licensing server.
