SYMPTOMS
An Exchange 2000 server does not generate an offline Address Book.
CAUSE
The system attendant is retrieving the list of offline address lists from the directory, and then trying to find the associated server name in its list of virtual machines. When it cannot find a virtual machine, it gives up on the entire list of offline Address Books. The result is that the offline Address Book is only generated if the directory happens to return the local server at the top of the list.
RESOLUTION
