SYMPTOMS
If you try to restore a backup that is located on multiple tapes, the restoration may not work. Ntbackup.exe may request tape 1, eject tape 1, and then request tape 1 again. You may then receive the following error message:
CAUSE
When the tapes were changed, an incorrect value was returned. This causes Ntbackup to incorrectly identify the tape it requested.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

The English version of this fix should have the following file attributes or later:

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 2.

It is recommended that the newest hotfix be used in either situation where the NTbackup.exe hotfix is needed.
