SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to use a MAILTO: SMTP address that contains a query string with an open destination port, the following error message may occur:

The server rejected one or more recipient addresses. The server response was: 501 5.5.4 Invalid Address

The server encountered a transport error while processing the messaging port "ODest", which uses a transport component with a ProgID of "{0275E0DC-0001-0000-119B-1061D45CC100}".

A transmission attempt failed.

CAUSE

BizTalk does not support query strings after the MAILTO: SMTP address. The following is an example of an invalid entry:

mailto:user@domain.com?Subject=CustomSubjectLine

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
