SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to gain access to a secure Web site from Windows CE, you may receive the following error message:
Microsoft Pocket Internet Explorer may issue either of the following error messages:
CAUSE
This issue can occur because the VeriSign Certificate Authority (CA) has changed the hashing algorithm that is used for new Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) server certificates from Message Digest 5 (MD-5) to Secure Hash Algorithm 1 (SHA1). Note that the Microsoft Windows 2000 CA also uses SHA1 by default.
RESOLUTION
A supported software update is now available from Microsoft as Windows CE 2.11 Core OS QFE 32. To resolve this problem immediately, click the following article number for information about obtaining Windows CE Platform Builder and core operating system software updates:
