BUG: PdhExpandWildCardPath() ANSI Version May Fail on Windows 2000

SYMPTOMS

The ANSI version of the PdhExpandWildCardPath function may fail with a random error code on a computer that is running Windows 2000. Only the ANSI version, PdhExpandWildCardPathA, exhibits this behavior.



RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

The English version of this fix should have the following file attributes or later:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 2.
