SYMPTOMS

The user interface may be incorrect for alerts in System Monitor. For example, you may receive the following error messages for an alert that is set at a limit of over, or under zero percent for any counter:

Your Alert

You must set or review the alarm limit for each alarm entry added.
Enter a limit value greater than or equal to zero.

OK

This generally occurs when you are exploring the properties of an existing alert that has more than one counter.

Note: To view System Monitor alerts, click Performance Logs and Alerts, and then click Alerts in the Computer Management Snap-in.

CAUSE

There is a code error in the snap-in for alerts; the correct flags are not set for saved items.
