SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to connect to a Windows 2000-based computer to obtain access to a certificate enrollment, you may receive a warning message that states that the authenticity of the Xenroll.dll file cannot be verified, and therefore cannot be trusted.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the unsigned version of the Xenroll.dll file has been localized.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Windows 2000 service pack that contains this fix.

Microsoft scanned this file for viruses. Microsoft used the most current virus-detection software that was available on the date that the file was posted. The file is stored on security-enhanced servers that help to prevent any unauthorized changes to the file. The German version of this fix should have the following file attributes or later:
