SYMPTOMS
When you run the Move to Folder command, items are permanently deleted if the items must be converted to another form type. If you move an e-mail message to a Calendar folder or a Tasks folder, and the original message is embedded into the new task or calendar, and you do not save the new task or calendar, data is lost.

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
MORE INFORMATION
This problem occurs because Outlook views the newly created form with embedded messages as a new message, therefore Outlook does not have anything to revert back to when you close the form.
The only way to recover this message is to restore the messages from a back up copy of them that you previously made.
