SYMPTOMS Page 312 of the “Microsoft Macro Assembler 5.0 Programmer’s Guide” incorrectly states “the most-significant bits will be in AX, the least-significant bits will be in DX” when documenting the mul and imul instructions.
The sentence should state that “the most-significant bits will be in DX, the least-significant bits will be in AX.”
STATUS Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in MASM version 5.0. This problem was corrected in MASM version 5.1.
