SUMMARY
A new System Monitor counter has been added that you can use to track the number of Windows NT LAN Manager (NTLM) authentications that take place on a domain controller. This new counter can be helpful in capacity planning and performance benchmarks.

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing.
