SYMPTOMS
When you create two or more tables in a Microsoft Works Word Processor document, and you then drag the first table below another table in the same document, unexpected behavior may occur. For example, the top line of a table may disappear, tables may appear to be joined, or an entire table row may disappear.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if a table, along with any conjoined text, is dragged to the very first line below another table.
RESOLUTION
To work around this problem, always leave at least one blank line between two tables. If you drag a table into position below another table, and the table that you are dragging has text conjoined to the top of the table, drop the table and text in the second blank line below the table rather than the first line. This method leaves a blank line between the tables.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
