OL2000: Outlook Quits When You Access a VBA Generated Toolbar

SYMPTOMS

When you reduce the size of your Outlook form window and then click the drop-down arrow to access buttons that do not fit on the command bar, Outlook may quit and you may receive the following error message:

OUTLOOK.EXE - Application Error The instruction at "0x30a5a377" referenced memory at "0x00000030". The memory could not be "read".

RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Microsoft Office 2000 service release that contains this fix.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Outlook 2000 and Outlook 2000 SR1.

A supported hotfix for this problem is now available through Microsoft Product Support Services.
