SYMPTOMS

When you create a new entry on your Microsoft Pocket PC calendar or in Microsoft Outlook, and then synchronize your Pocket PC, if you change the time zone setting on the Pocket PC clock, the Today screen does not reflect your calendar entries with the correct time. The Calendar events displayed on the Today screen still show the time zone of the previous clock setting.

An example of the behavior is as follows:

  1. From the Today page, click Start, select Settings, select System, and then select Clock on your Pocket PC.
  2. In the clock settings, change your clock to the Visiting zone, making sure that the location of the Visiting zone is a different time zone than your Home zone.
  3. Click OK, and select YES to accept changes to the clock.

Your appointments on the Today screen now reflect the Visiting time zone. (For example, if the Home zone is Eastern Standard Time (EST) and the Visiting zone is Central Standard Time (CST), 8:00 a.m. EST appointments reflect the 7:00 a.m. CST time.)

  1. Change your clock back to the Home zone.

The Today screen and Calendar events still display the appointments in the Visiting time zone. The events remain in the Visiting time zone until the Pocket PC is synchronized.

CAUSE

This behavior happens because your Pocket PC needs to be synchronized with its partnership computer after you change the time zones.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, synchronize your Pocket PC with its partnership computer.
