16 and 20 Digit Numbers ID Number: Q26806

5.00 MS-DOS buglist5.00

Problem: MASM does not issue syntax errors if 16 and 20 digit numbers are used with DD encoded reals. Similarly, no errors are issued if 8 and 20 digits are used with DQ, and 8 and 16 are used with DT. The number of digits allowed for encoded numbers used with the DD, DQ, and DT directives are 8, 16, and 20 respectively.

Response: This problem was fixed in MASM Version 5.00A. Please call Product Support and request an update to MASM Version 5.00A.
