SYMPTOMS

After you disable your computer's floppy disk drive in Device Manager and then restart the computer, the icon for the drive may not be removed from My Computer. If you click the icon, the computer may stop responding (hang).

This behavior has been known to occur on IBM ThinkPad 770 portable computers.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, contact IBM technical support to inquire about availability of an update.
