APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition

This article was previously published under Q267199

SYMPTOMS

When you use the AT&T Global Network Dialer Wizard version 4.23.6 to set up a business account, you may receive the following error message:

DUN is not installed correctly.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur when the Rnanp.dll file is not available to AT&T Global Network Dialer.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, contact AT&T to inquire about the availability of a later version of the software.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

The Rnanp.dll file does not need to be present for the installation to be complete; only the registry key and entry for the Rnanp.dll file are needed. However, the Rnanp.dll file and registry entry are not available in Windows Millennium Edition (Me).

Due to changes in the operating system, the AT&T Global Network Dialer versions 4.24.2 and earlier have a known compatibility issue when they are installed on a computer running Windows Me. If you are using a modem to connect to the network, you may receive an error message indicating that Dial Up Networking (DUN) is not installed correctly. If you are using a DSL or cable modem to connect to the network, you may receive an error message indicating that the protocol drivers are in use by another application or that your operating system has been recently upgraded. Because of this compatibility issue, you will not be able to gain access to the network by using this version of the AT&T software.

For additional information about AT&T software, visit AT&T's Software Center from the AT&T's Web site:

or contact AT&T at the phone number listed on the Help menu when you click Customer Support within the dialer itself.
