ALT+ENTER Does Not Resize the MS-DOS Prompt Window on Some HP Computers

SYMPTOMS

On some Hewlett-Packard (HP)computers, when you attempt to resize the MS-DOS Prompt window into full screen by pressing ALT+ENTER or by clicking the Full Screen button on the MS-DOS toolbar, the window may not be resized and a C:\<windir> prompt may appear.


WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Press ALT+TAB to view another program from the Windows taskbar.
  2. Right-click the MS-DOS Prompt on the taskbar, and then click Properties.
  3. On the Screen tab, click Window from the Usage area, and then click OK.
