SYMPTOMS

When you upgrade your Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition-based computer to Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me), your Lexmark 4076 ExecJet IIc printer may no longer print as expected. The printing process may appear to start, but then it stops, and the "Busy" and "Ink Low" lights on the printer begin to blink.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you are using a printer driver that uses the same compatibility identification as the newer Lexmark 4076 Color Fine Printer. As a result, the wrong printer driver may be installed during the Windows Me upgrade.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, reinstall the Lexmark 4076 ExecJet IIc printer driver.
