SYMPTOMS

Whey you try to start Microsoft FrontPage, you may receive the following error message:

Entry Point Not Found In MSVCRT.DLL

CAUSE

This issue may occur if there is a version incompatibility with the Msvcrt.dll file.

A version incompatibility with the Msvcrt.dll file can occur if you complete the following tasks in the given order:

  1. You install FrontPage 2000.
  2. You install Microsoft Office Service Pack 1 (SP1).
  3. You remove Office SP1.
  4. You reinstall FrontPage 2000.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Run the Microsoft Windows 2000 Recovery Console (see the "More Information" section for details).
  2. Delete the Msvcrt.dll file in the Winnt\System32 folder.
  3. Copy the correct version of the Msvcrt.dll file from the Winnt\System32\dllcache folder to the Winnt\System32 folder.
