MORE INFORMATION

Steps to Reproduce Problem

  1. In a new blank Word document, insert a table that spans two pages.
  2. On the File menu, click Page Setup and then click the Margins tab.
  3. Click to select the Mirror Margins check box. Set the Inside Margin to 2" and the Outside Margin to 1", and then click OK.
  4. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Track Changes tab.
  5. Under Changed Lines, set Mark to Left Border, and then click OK.
  6. On the Tools menu, click Track Changes and then click Highlight Changes.
  7. Click to select the Track changes while editing check box, and then click OK.
  8. Type some text in the table cells on page 1 and page 2.
  9. Type some text on page 2 after the table.
  10. Note that the position of the vertical changed-line bars, for the changes in the table and the change after the table, is correct in print layout view and print preview.
  11. Print the document.

Result: The vertical changed-line bars are printed incorrectly on page 2 (the even-numbered page) when the revision marks are in the table. They appear inside the table instead of in the left margin.

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Track Changes tab.
  2. Under Changed Lines, set Mark to Outside Border, and then click OK.

Note that the position of the vertical changed-line bars, for the changes in the table and the change after the table, is correct in print layout view and print preview.

  1. Print the document.

Result: The vertical changed-line bars for the revisions in the table on page 2 are printed in the inside border. They should be printed in the outside border.
