Active Scripting Is Enabled in Internet Explorer 5.5 with High Security |

SYMPTOMS
If your security settings are set to High in Internet Explorer 5 or 5.01 and you then upgrade to Internet Explorer 5.5, the security settings in Internet Explorer 5.5 are also set to High. However, Active Scripting is still enabled.
CAUSE
Internet Explorer 5.5 retains the settings from Internet Explorer 5 or 5.01. Although the security settings in Internet Explorer 5.5 are set to High, they are not the Internet Explorer 5.5 High settings. The previous Internet Explorer settings are retained.
WORKAROUND
To resolve this problem after you upgrade to Internet Explorer 5.5:
- In Internet Explorer, click Internet Options on the Tools menu.
- Click the Security tab.
- Set the Security level for this zone slider to Medium, and then click Apply.
- Set the Security level for this zone slider to High, and then click OK.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
