SYMPTOMS
In Visio 2000 Technical Edition, when you save a CAD drawing as a JPEG file, Visio may crop the drawing.

To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Visio 2000 Service Release 1 (SR-1).

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Visio 2000 SR-1.

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior
- Start Visio 2000 Technical Edition.
- On the File menu, click Open.
- In the Files of type box, click AutoCAD Drawing, and then select the Resunit.dwg file in the \Program Files\Visio\Samples\Visio Extras folder.
- In the CAD Drawing Scale box, click Custom Scale, and use a scale of 1 in. = 50 in.
- Click Page Setup, click Landscape, and then click OK.
- Click to clear the Lock Position check box, and then click OK.
- On the File menu, click SaveAs.
- In the Save as type box, click JPEG Format, name the drawing, and then click OK.
- View the resulting JPEG file in Microsoft Internet Explorer.
Note that the drawing is cropped. This cropping does not happen when you save a Visio shape as a JPEG file.
