SYMPTOMS
In Word 2000, when you open a document that was saved as .rtf (Rich Text Format file), some table borders are dropped.
CAUSE
When the border type for cells in a table is not specified in an RTF file, Word 97 uses the default. So when a table spans pages, the border is displayed between pages by using the default border type. However, Word 2000 does not recognize it as a border, so the border is not displayed between pages when the table spans pages.
RESOLUTION

STATUS
