SUMMARY

This article describes how an independent hardware vendor (IHV) acquires redistribution rights for the Windows Driver Model (WDM) audio update.

MORE INFORMATION

A Redistribution Request form must be completed and approved by Microsoft before redistribution rights are granted. Follow these steps:

1. Verify that the update successfully addresses the behavior.
2. Download the Redistribution Request form the following Microsoft Web site:
3. Completely fill in all sections of the Redistribution Request form.
4. Submit the completed form to the following e-mail alias: wdmaudhf@microsoft.com. It will then be reviewed by management and our Legal department.
5. After reviewing the form for accuracy and approval, our Legal department contacts you with final steps.
6. Once the request has been approved you are free to distribute the fix as it is outlined in the approval document.
