SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to create an Emergency Disk with McAfee VirusScan version 4.03 you may receive the following error message:

Emergency Disk Wizard: Some of the required system file are missing. Please format the disk with "Copy System Files" option. Although the Windows Format dialog closes prior to the error, the format is not complete.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you are using a version of McAfee VirusScan that is not designed to work with Windows Millennium Edition (Me).

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, obtain and install a version of McAfee VirusScan that is designed to work with Windows Me. For further information about how to do so, please view the following McAfee Web site:
