SYMPTOMS

When you install Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 4 build 8799, the file Asycfilt.dll does not get updated.

RESOLUTION

Install the Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 4 released-to-market version.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 4 build 8799. This bug was corrected in the release-to-market version of Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 4.

1. Install Windows NT4 Server, English (ENU) version.
2. Install the complete Visual Studio 6.0 Enterprise Edition, ENU version.
3. Install the complete Visual J++ 6.0 Professional Edition, ENU version.
4. Install Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 3, ENU version.
5. Install Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 4, ENU version (build 8799)
