SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to start your computer by using an Emergency Boot disk (EBD) that you created with a downloaded version of PC-Cillin provided by Fix-It 2000, the disk may be recognized as a non-system or non-bootable disk.

CAUSE

Disks that you create by using the PC-Cillin EBD creator may not boot your computer.

RESOLUTION

Use the set of EBDs that you can create with Fix-It 2000. These disks work because they are created by using DR-DOS system files.

STATUS

Because of changes in the operating system, this version of Fix-It 2000 has a known compatibility issue with Windows Millennium Edition (Me). After you run the Easy Update feature, you are prompted to reboot the computer. The second time that you run the Easy Update feature, you cannot successfully create an emergency antivirus disk. Ontrack is aware of this issue and is currently working on a compatible Windows Me version.
