SYMPTOMS
When you try to install UUNET's PAL95 version 3.5 or 4.0 on a computer running Windows Millennium (Me), the installation may stop after you accept the licensing agreement, and you may receive the following error message:
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the Setup program is looking for the Rnanp.dll file in the following registry key :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\RemoteAccess\NetworkProvider
MORE INFORMATION
The Rnanp.dll file was removed because it conflicts with Internet Explorer functionality in Windows Me. Due to changes in the operating system, these particular versions of PAL have a known compatibility issue with Windows Me. Therefore, when you attempt to install this version of PAL on Windows Me, you may receive the error message stating Dial-Up Networking (DUN) is not installed on your computer, and the installation stops.
