SYMPTOMS

After you perform a full system restore, the time and all your appointments may be off by an hour.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, use either of the following methods.

Method 1

Perform a "cold" or "hard" reset on the device. Note that doing so requires you to reinstall all your programs and data.

Method 2

WARNING: Using a registry editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to perform a full reset of your Windows CE-based device. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of a registry editor can be solved. Use registry editors at your own risk.

NOTE: Microsoft does not offer a registry editor for the Palm-size PC (P/PC). To use this method, you must obtain a third-party registry editor for the P/PC.

  1. Export the following registry key from the Windows CE-based device:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Time

  2. Delete the following registry key from the Windows CE-based device:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Time

  3. Change the Visiting City setting in World Clock to re-create the registry setting.
  4. Synchronize the device with the desktop computer. The time and appointments should now be correct.
