SYMPTOMS
When you install Microsoft StarLancer on a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer, StarLancer may not detect your video adapter. As a result, 3D Render Mode is configured to use the Software Renderer when you play the game.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the following conditions are true:
- You installed StarLancer on the Windows 2000-based computer before you installed the Windows 2000 Compatibility Update.
- The video adapter installed in your computer is based on the nVIDIA chip set.
- The video driver for your video adapter is outdated.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use the following methods in the order in which they are presented.
- Uninstall StarLancer.
- Download and install the Windows 2000 Compatibility Update.
- Obtain and install the latest version of the video driver for your video adapter.
- Reinstall StarLancer.
