SYMPTOMS
When you install Visual Studio Service Pack 4, Japanese (JPN) version build 8796, both the Ssjp.dll file and the Ssus.dll file in the JPN version of Microsoft Visual SourceSafe are not updated.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, install the released-to-market (RTM) version of Visual Studio Service Pack 4.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 4, Japanese version, build 8796. This bug was corrected in the release-to-market version of Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 4.

- Perform a clean installation of Windows 98, JPN version.
- Install Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 3, JPN version.
- Install Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 4, JPN version (build 8796).
