SYMPTOMS
You are not able to install Microsoft Office from the CD, and you receive the following error message:
CAUSE
You may see this error message on Macintosh clones that run FWB CD-ROM Toolkit, or that have a third-party driver installed.
NOTE: The last supported operating system for clones is Mac OS 8.1.
RESOLUTION
Download the latest available drivers from the FWB Web site.
WORKAROUND
Start the computer with Extensions off by holding down SHIFT as the computer starts, until the following message appears:
Welcome to Mac OS Extensions Off
- Locate and start the FWB tool CDT from the hard disk.
- On the Toolkit menu, click Load CD-ROM drivers.
- Insert the Microsoft Office 98 CD, and install Microsoft Office 98 by dragging the Microsoft Office 98 folder from the CD onto the hard disk, or by performing a custom install.
