SYMPTOMS
When an Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) client causes the ICS host to dial the Internet, the ICS host may time out if the connection is not made within 60 seconds. When this occurs, the ICS client displays a "The page cannot be displayed" message.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, try the following steps on the ICS host:
- Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Modems.
- Click the installed modem, and then click Properties.
- Click the Connection tab.
- In the Call Preferences section, change the Cancel the call if not connected within 60 seconds value from 60 seconds to 90 seconds.
- Click OK, and then click OK.
- Try the call again. If 90 seconds is not enough time for the ICS host to make the connection, try a slightly longer setting.
