SUMMARY
By default, Windows Explorer starts in the My Documents folder. This article describes how to configure Windows Explorer to start with the %SystemRoot% drive as the default view.

Configuring Windows Explorer
- Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, right-click Windows Explorer, and then click Properties.
- Click the Shortcut tab.
- Add the following text behind the text in the Target box:
/e,/root,
The text in the Target box should then appear as:
%systemroot%\explorer.exe /e,/root,
- Click OK. When you start Windows Explorer, the root drive is the default view.
