SYMPTOMS

No sound is heard in Microsoft Windows 98 Starts Here, even though the sound works properly in other Windows programs.

RESOLUTION

  1. Click Start and then point to Programs.
  2. Point to Accessories, point to Entertainment and then click Windows Media Player.
  3. Move the Volume Control slider to the right to increase volume.
  4. Close Windows Media Player and restart Windows 98 Starts Here.
