XWEB: New Folder Dialog Box Does Not Display Selected Parent Folder

Article ID: 255344

Article Last Modified on 2/21/2007

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Standard Edition

This article was previously published under Q255344

SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Exchange 2000 Outlook Web Access (OWA) with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x, when you right-click a folder and click New Folder, the Create New Folder dialog box is displayed. However, the folder that you right-clicked to create the new folder (the parent folder) may not be highlighted.

This behavior may cause confusion about location of the new folder.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the number of folders exceeds the space available in the Folder Contains box in the Create New Folder dialog box.

WORKAROUND

To verify that the new folder is created in the desired parent folder, use the scroll bar in the Folder Contains box until the parent folder is visible. If the folder is highlighted, you can confirm that this folder is the parent of the new folder.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
